About Us

I am mum of four, married to my Lebanese husband, Eric of eighteen years. We live with one of our sons in a quiet rural village in Hungary, around 100 km from Budapest, Hungary’s capital. We are slowly renovating our home and mingling with the locals, enjoying the beautiful nature that surrounds us. I am a keen photographer, writer and gardener.

This blog is to document our lives through interesting narratives and beautiful photographs with added snippets of history and insights into the way we have adapted to the Hungarian lifestyle.

We have several gardening projects on the go, experimenting with new types of vegetables, recycling everyday materials so nothing goes to waste and growing from seeds taken from plants. The aim is to produce food for our table all through the year so we are learning how to preserve fruits and vegetables.

Most Hungarians own a dog, we do too. This is our first experience at being dog owners and it has been a huge learning curve for us all, but a very rewarding one. I want to share what I know and what I have discovered about owning a Siberian Husky.

My aim is help other Expats adjust to a new life in a strange country with inspiring, entertaining and educational posts. I hope you can join us on our journey and adventures and enjoy Hungary as much as we do.
